This post showcases 40 inspirational images of the cross. The cross has become a universal symbol of hope. It is used in relief organizations logos, ambulances, rescue helicopters and on the steeple of churches. In today’s society the cross has different meanings to different people, it is considered to be just another piece of jewelery, a fashion statement or to be used in mythical stories to kill vampires.
For the Romans the cross was the ultimate symbol of death and punishment, but like everything that Jesus Christ comes in contact with; the cross became a symbol of life and hope. Jesus’ death on the cross was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. by the third century the cross had become so closely associated with Christ it was called the Lords symbol and Christians were called devotees of the Cross.
The cross reminds us of God’s act of love in Christ’s sacrifice at Calvary—”the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” The cross also reminds us of Jesus’ victory over sin and death, since through His death and resurrection He conquered death itself.
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the un-circumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:13-15

It would help in the credit line to reference where these artists are from. I went to find whitefeathers, for example, on Flickr hoping to get lucky, but I didn’t come up with a result for that user. Can you tell me where to find that artist? I might request others as well. Thanks for the help!
Hi Tobin, I went ahead and updated some of the images with direct link to the websites they are from. The others images I just indicated what site the artist is on, with no direct link to the images, hope that helps
