Why Believe in Genesis – Part 2

In our previous post entitled, “Why Believe in Genesis” , we concluded that the Genesis account of creation can be trusted, because everything that God said He created, we can see with our eyes and they are exactly where He said we would find them and doing exactly what they were created to do. He created the sun, moon and the stars for signs and seasons, days and years, Genesis 1:14-16. He created all life from dust and when they die, they return to the dust, Genesis 3:19.

God created different species of animals to reproduce after their own kind, Genesis 1:25. He made man and gave him dominion (power and authority) over the earth and all the animals, Genesis 1:26. He created the heavens and the earth in six days and ended all of His work on the seventh day, Genesis 2:2. We still live and work by that seven day time principle.

The book of Genesis gives us a general picture of what God created, and we don’t have to look too far to see these life forms functioning in our environment. What a joy it is to see what God has created! He created all these things for the benefit of mankind. We live in a Godless society that wants us to believe that everything we see, came to be, by some random chance. Ultimately they degrade humanity by saying we evolved from monkeys! God made man in His image and likeness and crowned him with honor and glory! Man in his sinful nature wants to suppress the truth of Almighty God out of our system, every chance we get. The more we suppress what God has told us about his creation is the more sin creeps into every aspect of our human experience. Man continues to become more arrogant, selfish and stupid, thinking that we are all knowing. We would rather believe the lie of evolution rather than accept by faith what God has told us. Look at God’s response to those who refuse to believe that He created the heavens and the earth and continue to believe the foolishness of man…

“…For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;…” Romans 1:18- 32

Let us look at just two questions that challenges the wisdom of man!

1. Does Fossils Show That Life Evolved Over Millions of Years?

The fact is that all human, animal and plants appear suddenly in the fossil records and are not preceded by continuous transitional stages. The fossils in the fossil records show a vast amount of sediment encasement which was laid down by water. The fossil records are evidence of how rapidly humans, animals and plants were destroyed, not evidence of slow change. With the mass amount of fossils found all over the world, there is not a single example of a continuous fossil sequence showing progressive stages of evolution. Evolutionist have surmised various feeble explanations that tries to explain this away, but no solid agreement on why we cannot find these transitional stages. We would think that the transitional stages of fossils to be in an abundance, yet the discredited Darwinian “theory” is still being taught in our schools.

2. Why Such A Universal Abundance of Fossils?

The Bible describes an event in Genesis where God wiped the earth clean of all life, when He saw that the heart of men were continually geared towards evil. For the lack of a better word we can call this period of earths history, “The Old World”, described in Genesis 6.

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. ” Genesis 6:5-8

.“..And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.” Genesis 7:18-24

So, let us fast forward to “The New Earth:” in which we live and we can see a clear picture of what took place during the flood, a perfect cataclysmic event for global destruction occurred. God wiped the earth clean of every human (except Noah’s family), animals and plants and what we find are many fossilized humans animals and plants all around the world, enough pressure and sediment was created to result in the fossilized animals and plants we are finding today. It is clearly seen by our discoveries, but because the heart of man is so desperately wicked we deny the fact that such an event ever happened. We develop deceptive words like “Prehistoric“-Prehistoric Man and Prehistoric Animals and Plants to describe the world that was before us, but clearly the Bible gives us a historical/genealogical record of the first man, Adam, up to the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and a history of the earth from its creation. Are we as humans headed back to the same mistake that our ancestors made? A suppression of God and continual evil in our hearts? Will we be destroyed too? Yes it will happen again, but not by a worldwide flood, but by fire described in 2 Peter 3:5-7.

 

“For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” 2 Peter 3:5-7

Thanks to God for his everlasting mercy and grace which he gave to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross of Calvary. We do not have to face the wrath of God, He has provided a way out , just like He did for Noah, through the death of Jesus on the cross, His death paid the penalty for our sins. His gift of love is freely available.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 2 Peter 3:9-13

 

I encourage you to take another look at the Biblical accounts of Genesis for yourself, your eternal destiny relies on it. Do not place your destiny in the foolishness of man!

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. 2 Peter 3:17

You are wonderfully and fearfully made! you have a purpose! Go outside and look at the animals and plants and the majesty of the sun, the moon and the stars, they were all made for you! God has so much in store for those who love Him, our minds cannot comprehend how much He loves us! Give God the praise because He created everything!
