  1. Hello and thank you for all these recommendations. I have been searching and wondering what to do about the Bible on my new iPhone. You have pointed me in the right direction and I appreciate it. God bless you and for all your work you do on here…it’s wonderful!

    • Hi Mark, thanks for checking us out, happy you find the post useful, God Bless you :o )

      • Update: I am using the app Holy Bible and it is absolutely wonderful. It’s everything I wanted in an iPhone Bible. I can’t thank you enough for having this one here and giving direction. I am a minister and this will help me when I’m out. WOW, truly amazing website and I am so blessed by it. Thank again and take care!

        • Great! happy you found one that works for you, “Holy Bible” and “Bible App” are my favorite and they usually update with additional features :o ) God Bless!

  2. I have the Holy Bible App installed, don’t use it much because I haven’t gotten used to the idea of reading from my phone and I also use an audio bible. What I like about this one is that you can take notes and change the theme to “dark” for better reading when the surrounding light is dim (white text on black background).

I can see myself using it in church but, I must remember to turn off the ringer – I hope they will put an automatic volume mute on these type of apps so that we do not mistakenly disturb the speaker if a call comes in. That would be sweet!! :)

  3. You also might be interested in Bible Promises “biblepromises.reigndesign.com” – it has Bible verses arranged in topics like Loneliness, Love and Fear.

    • Bible promises seem promising for sure, I will check it out. I love the fact that it’s topical, sometimes I need a verse that deals with a specific subject, memory sometimes fail me. This is a good resource.

      Thanks Matt

  4. A nice selection here. I have the iPod Touch. Will try one or two of these. Thanks for the intro.

  5. Great round up. I used the “Bible Ap” and “Holy Bible”. They are both great and have continuous updates.

  6. Good job – I’d like to add “BibleScope”. Although it’s $30, it gives you offline access, multiple versions (something like 7 or 8), notes, and easy access to get to certain books! Enjoy!

  7. Checked out “Bible Scope”, nice App, but a little pricey, “Bible App” and “Holy Bible” gives about the same features and they are free!…”Bible Scope” need to drop the price :)

  8. Just got a 2nd gen touch…will probably try bible app…it looks like it has more translations even though i use only 3: NLT, NIV, and MESSAGE….i really need to get into that old school KJV…most scripture i feel needs to stay the way it is in KJV so it can cut the way its supposed to LOL!! thanks for all your work man…i’ll stay tuned to the blog….

    • I use Bible App it’s simple and does what it says on the tin :) It’s a good advice to check with the KJV on scripture, some verses are even missing from the NIV and other translations for that matter because, some use the exact copy of the NIV or it’s translation. I usually do a mirror check with the KJV if I’m going to use another translation, just to make sure they are saying the same thing.

You are welcome, we try our best to do the best work possible with our skills… glad you are blessed.

  9. I’ve been using this new Pocket Bible for the iPhone, it has a guided reading system that I’ve been able to stay focused on my studies.

It is such a blessing that there are so many options for iPhone Bibles. For those looking for a King James Only Bible, they can get one for free from “touchbible.org”. Or if you need more translations, there are free versions of other translations too. Keep up the good work! Let’s use these great apps to grow in the Lord!

  14. Check out the The Word of Promise Audio Bible for a bible with a cool twist–the biblical characters are voiced by some of your favorite actors. Check it out here!

  15. Thank you for your suggestion, I’ve tried many topical Bible Apps. The best that i like so far is Living Word. Its verses are very related. It also has What you have in Christ,, blessings, Rest, peace.

  16. I am disappointed that this list failed to mentioned any of the top iPhone Bible apps for studying the Bible. The best two by far are Olive Trees BibleReader and logos. PocketBible and mantis Bible are ok as well. I have tried well over 30 Bible apps on the store and this post only mentions 2 of the top 8. YouVersion and Holy Bible are both good Bible reading apps.

    • Stephen, those were great suggestions, I added some to our list. I love Olive Tree and BibleReader, thanks for sharing. I got to find some time to review other Apps in the store :)

  17. LOSWL you should also a post on people who tweet bible verses.

One of my favorites is GiantJesus.I enjoy @giantjesus because it actually tweets the entire verse and doesn’t just give you a link to it.
