The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

Beginning of Wisdom

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.- Proverbs 9:10-11 Wisdom multiplies days (Proverbs 9:11) Those who abuse their bodies with sin usually cut their lives short, but when you follow wisdom, you can add years to your life – and life to your years! God gives a fullness of experience to those who obey Him. – W.W. Weirsbe

Free for All TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: “…God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.”……….Acts 10:34-35, NIV TODAY’S WORD: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! God’s freedom is free for everyone! It doesn’t matter what your nationality or heritage is, or who your family is. It doesn’t matter how much money you have or don’t have. God wants you free from everything that would hold you back from your relationship with Him! God wants to pour out His abundant blessing on all who honor Him and do what is right. In fact, the Bible says in Galatians that in Christ, there is no Jew or Greek or even male or female. That means God’s not judging you based on physical conditions. He’s looking at your heart. The Bible

The Bible Mini-Series Trailer

March 1, 2013 |

The Bible Mini-Series: Adapting a literary work for the big screen is an endeavor fraught with peril. Stray too far from the original work and you risk wrecking the story’s appeal (and angering fans of the book). Yet adhere too slavishly to the exact details of the book and you risk producing an uninspired film that doesn’t play to any of the strengths of the medium. And those are just the risks you face when adapting a typical novel— say, a Harry Potter or Twilight installment. You can imagine how much more intimidating and problematic this becomes when you’re adapting a book that millions of people consider to be the living Word of God.

Letting Go – Part 1

October 24, 2012 |

Growing up I did not have much of a social life (for a variety of reasons) so I did not form many experiences in regard to dealing with people, deep friendships, and relationships. I had a lot of friends but I did not get close to anybody so I did not experience the ins and outs of relationships and friendships. As I got into my teens I started forming my own ideas about life–what is right and wrong, and how things should be done—because I needed some type of guidance in life. My mother used to always tell me that I have to learn from life, but I found myself constantly frustrated by what little I learned from experiences and my ideas about life. Not because I learned little but because I, as a person, changed constantly and so my ideas changed too and they changed quite quickly! This made…    read more

The Word That Satisfies Our Thirst

December 13, 2010 |

The Lord fills us with His word, the more we drink of the Living waters and eat of His word, the more in the likeness of His image we become…. for it is written to all who would hear and are thirsty and do hunger after Christ Jesus: Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. – Isaiah 55:1 You see, the invitation here is made to all. ‘Everyone’ is entreated to come. It is not offered to the elect only, or to the rich, the great, the noble; but it is made to all. He came for us, the sinner. Our best is filthy rags. It is impossible to conceive of language more universal in its nature than this, and while this stands in the Word of…    read more

Oh! To Be A Tree!

November 26, 2010 |

Growing up, in my own strength, tall and high, fighting, struggling, wanting. Then cut down, short and flat, just like all the others around me. What am I to do? I want to be tall, like those trees. How’d they do it? So I grow again, taking in my nutrients from the world, taking it all in, just like everybody else. So we grow, big and tall, and I begin to think, “maybe, this time, I will grow tall like those trees”. Then, from behind, comes the sound, the whir, the growl, the blade, cutting all my competition down flat. It passes by, and still I stand, tall and proud. But O, horror, here it comes again, cutting, biting, throwing a cloud of my neighbors to the left of me. I am short and squat once again, and so I fall in despair I crumble, for I will never be…    read more

A Call to Anguish by David Wilkerson

October 7, 2010 |

David Wilkerson’s soul-stirring sermon on the necessity of anguish – to bear God’s heart, passion, and burden within our lives. David Wilkerson, gives a powerful sermon that speaks to the Church in a mighty way about the need for anguish in our hearts for the world, he speaks about how God uses anguish to bring us closer to himself. So what is anguish, it is not a word used often today, it is extreme pain, distress, or anxiety over a given situation, example “He experienced the anguish of divorce after 10 years of marriage.” Watch this powerful video and see what the Church is missing, when it only focuses on ministry and programs, without anguish in our hearts. Extraordinary Examples of Brilliant Church Photography

December 1, 2009 |

Churches are so fascinating to look at and can be a tremendous source of design inspiration. A critical part of Christianity has been the gathering of people worshiping together. By virtue of this activity, the “place” where they worship has become endowed with a symbolic form. To the early Christians the word “church” referred to the act of assembling together rather than to the building itself. Christians met where they could, usually they would meet in each others houses, Congregations soon outgrew the meeting halls of the House-Churches and so they began to create buildings specifically suited to house their worship. Below are some brilliant photographs of churches, taken by talented photographers. I hope you enjoy them.       House of God by abcdz2000 St. Bridget’s Church by mudpig Saint Francis Church by janusz l Saint Mary’s Church – Studley Royal by nick.garrod Sunset Church by cmiper Church by Nasos3…    read more
