Signs and Wonders Wallpaper: Signs and wonders are what some search for today when it pertains to believing in God and trusting in Him, but if we see signs and wonders, will it turn us away from our sins and make our faith stronger? What if the signs and wonders are not reliable and the question is…, why are we searching for these signs?
Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
When Jesus walked the earth, He performed many signs and wonders, He healed the sick, He gave sight to the blind and many more miracles that astonished everyone, but did everyone believe in Him?…No! This proves that signs and wonders will not satisfy our ultimate spiritual needs. 2 Thessalonians tells us of a time in the near future before the return of Christ, when people will witness many miraculous signs from the antichrist! He will fulfill that need in people, to “see before they believe”.

“For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” 2 Thessalonians 2:7-10
The passage speaks of a mystery of iniquity that is already working in the world today. What is this mystery of iniquity? In this context, it seems to imply that it is the spirit of antichrist which John speaks about.
“And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” 1 John 4:3
The passage from Thessalonians brings up another figure (the one that letteth or allow things to happen) “only he that letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way”. The only one that was sent down to earth after Jesus left, was the Holy Spirit.
“And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” John 14:16-18
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.” John 16:7
“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of me:” John 15:26
The book of Acts shows a clear example of the power of the Holy Spirit at work holding back the apostles from going into certain areas to preach the Gospel, the Holy Spirit is a “real person” (Spirit) sent to us, to give us Everlasting Power! He is here to Comfort, Guide and Protect us.
“Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.” Acts 16:6-7
The Holy Spirit is the one who is now holding back the antichrist from appearing, but there is coming a time (The Tribulation) when the Holy Spirit will be removed, or taken out of the way (Some Bible Scholars believe that this is the moment that Christians will be “raptured” away) and all hell is going to break loose and the antichrist will appear on the scene. He will perform all kinds of counterfeit miracles and lying wonders, the signs and wonders mankind has been looking for. He will deceive the perishing (the ones that did not believe and accept the truth and love of God, that they may be saved).
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 says that God will send the unbelievers a strong delusion so that they will believe the lie, so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
The Good News is that this spirit of deception that is and will be manifested through the antichrist will only last for a season, The Lord Jesus Christ will consume the antichrist with the spirit of His mouth and destroy him with the brightness of His coming! Hallelujah!
You see, we have the Holy Spirit with us now, to guide our hearts to the truth of God. The Lord said, “when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truthâ€John 16:13. The Holy Spirit pulls us to God and speaks to our hearts. Today is the appointed time to accept the love of God and the free gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins. We naturally do not love God, but He loves us with a never ending love, so if you feel His Spirit calling you, answer today.
